About TaHuKah
The Tangguh Hutan Khatulistiwa Foundation (TaHuKah) is a non-governmental organization whose goal is to maintain balance and preserve ecosystems based on landscape management, biodiversity conservation, and strengthening sustainable livelihoods through proposing Social Forestry and establishing Corridors that allow connecting separated habitat blocks of Sumatran Orangutan (Pongo abelii) and the Tapanuli Orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis), as well as other protected wildlife that have been fragmented within the Pakpak Ecological Landscape and Batang Toru Ecological Landscape.
Landscape-Based Program Management
TaHuKah is projected to conserve biodiversity and strengthen sustainable livelihoods using a landscape approach. It also includes the proposal of Social Forestry and the establishment of corridors to secure the connection of fragmented habitat blocks for the Sumatran Orangutan (Pongo abelii) and the Tapanuli Orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis), as well as other protected wildlife.
